Thank you for having the courage to discuss this. The US Constitution never mentions abortion, and even liberal attorneys have criticized R v. W as a terrible legal precedence. The Dobbs case returned it to the states, where it probably belongs. A majority of Americans favor abortion through the first trimester. Guttmacher Institute is a self-proclaimed progressive organization that is hardly objective. Their discussion fails to mention that several red states, notably Kansas, Ohio, and perhaps even Florida this fall, have reversed restrictive laws. I, as well as most Americans, feel a compromise is best with abortions beyond the first trimester meeting stringent requirements only. Finally, the US Congress could have at any time passed national abortion laws but is too timid to do so as it is a political hot potato. Now, with the Dobbs decision, it's too late. What is the abortion policy in Australia?
