Co-opting sites and practices that help you relax is destructive

Source: My Yahoo mail account

I was recently offered a free membership to Calm . If you are not familiar with the app, it offers guided meditation and stories to help you relax and fall asleep. I was using it on a regular basis until June 9, 2020, when this email popped into my inbox. I don’t care what your politics might be, but this is inappropriate. It does not belong with any app, site, or practice that claims to aid with emotional balance, mindfulness, and tranquility. Period.

Proponents or apologists for these postings will say that the BLM movement is not political. Rather some may claim it is supportive of a basic human right. To which I say just read their mission statement and you will see this is not correct. “We disrupt the Western- prescribed nuclear family structure...”((https://blacklivesmatter.com/what-we-believe/). This is not a description of the human right of equality. It is a harmful message than makes no practical or loving sense. The nuclear families within the black communities are more “disrupted” than any other race in the country. More than one-third of black households have only one parent at home, (https://www.afro.com/census-bureau-higher-percentage-black-children-live-single-mothers/). From the same study, double that number of white children live with two parents. Why does that…
