Interesting list, Charlie. As an American, I usually opt for a US wine, not because it is better, but because I am more familiar with it. Pinot Noir is sublime, and I like anything from Oregon's Willamette Valley. I have gone wrong there, but it is rare. I will have to try more Chenin Blanc because I am unfamiliar with it and like a medium sweet/dry wine.
