I don't like anecdotes but my older sister and I grew up in NY in the 50's without fluoride. We had horrible cavities in almost every tooth. Same house hold, same environment, and same diets. Seven years later my twin siblings got fluoride and had almost zero cavities and no dental staining. Why would dentists endorse anything that would adversely affect their income if it didn't work. Sorry.
