As a retired MD, I must respectfully disagree. The issue is not making more money. It is bad management. I know of plenty of doctor’s offices where the doctor makes a good income and sees patients more efficiently. Furthermore, I dispute your assertion about attorneys being more regulated. In my area, you can’t watch 5 minutes of network television without seeing a PI lawyer’s commercials. Also, as opposed to doctors, you get to bill by the hour, so there is an incentive not to make a client wait. Finally, because of the hourly billing, clients are less inclined to take up more of your time than necessary. The opposite is true when seeing a physician.
